What's on in the Algarve in October 2026

In October the racing season at the Autódromo reaches its finale. Our calendar holds 320 dated October listings under 306 titles. Faro, Lagos and Portimão carry the most; the list below is the part worth planning around.

Week one, 1–4 October: music day and three festivals

• 1 October, Faro and Loulé. World Music Day: Avi Avital, Vasco Dantas and the Orquestra do Algarve play "À volta do Sol" at Teatro das Figuras, Faro, 21:00, from €18. The same evening, Mário Laginha and Manuela Azevedo at Cineteatro Louletano, Loulé, 21:00, from €15.
• 1–10 October, Portimão. The second World Sailing Inclusive Championship, para-inclusive sailing from Portimão.
• 2–4 October, Faro. Faro Alternativo, 16th edition: three nights of punk, hardcore and metal on the Passeio Ribeirinho, €25 a day.
• 2–4 October, Portimão. The Fun Cup at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.
• 3–4 October, Olhão. FÉRTIL: talks, workshops, cinema, family activities, food and a creative market at Parque Ribeirinho Poente.
• 3–4 October, Portimão. InDireita Street Fest, 8th edition: concerts, street performance and circus in the city centre.

Week two, 5–11 October: endurance racing and magic

• 8–10 October, Lagoa. Lagoa Magic Fest, three days of magic and performance.
• 8–10 October, Portimão. European Le Mans Series, 4 Hours of Portimão; the race itself is on 10 October at 14:30.

Week three, 12–18 October: Faro's fair and the season finale

• 15–25 October, Faro. Feira de Santa Iria at Largo de São Francisco, eleven days of Faro's traditional autumn fair. Entry is free; rides, games and food are paid separately.
• 16–18 October, Portimão. The GT World Challenge Europe closes its 2026 season at the Autódromo, with the final race on Saturday evening.
• 17 October, Lagoa. Polly Gibbons with the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve, Centro de Congressos, 19:00, from €12.
• 18 October, Quarteira and Vilamoura. The Meia Maratona do Algarve and the Mamamaratona, the half marathon and the Pink October charity run and walk.

Week four, 19–25 October: show jumping, politics on stage, flamenco

• 20 October to 9 November, Vilamoura. Classic Tour II, international show jumping at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre: two weeks of CSI3* and one of CSI4*.
• 22–24 October, Loulé. Festival Política, with the Cineteatro Louletano at its centre.
• 24 October, Lagoa. Alma Flamenca, flamenco dance, song and guitar at the Auditório Carlos do Carmo, 19:00, €10.
• 24 October, Tavira. Rodrigo Leão, "O Rapaz da Montanha", Teatro Municipal António Pinheiro, 21:30, from €15.

The last week, 26–31 October: classic cars and fado

• 30 October, Lagos. Avi Avital and Vasco Dantas, "From Iberia to the Levant", Igreja de São Sebastião, as part of the Algarve Music Series.
• 30 October to 1 November, Portimão. The Algarve Classic Festival at the Autódromo.
• 31 October, Tavira. Raquel Tavares, fado at the Teatro Municipal António Pinheiro, 21:30, from €15.
