Synopsis: Alfaiate is the name of a stray dog whose life story, told in the first person, traces the profound social, economic and cultural changes he witnesses in the community in which he lives. Although never explicitly named, it is implied that this is one of the many communities on the Algarve coast that underwent significant socio-economic changes with the advent of tourism from the 1950s onwards.
